Setting Relative Path (URL)

You may have noticed that Manila™ assigns a numerical URL to all stories. For example you might see something like this: http://www.domain.com/yoursite/stories/storyReader$40. If you would prefer you can assign your own URL to any story in your site.

Example: http://www.domain.com/yoursite/staff

To do this, visit the story whose URL you would like to change and look for the admin box near the bottom of the page. Select “Set a relative path for this message”, and in the “Path” field, type what you want the last part of the URL to be. For example: staff. Finally, click submit: . Your page now has two URLs: the old one and the one you just assigned it.

Tip: Setting relative path isn’t something you need to do for all pages. It’s best used for pages that are in your main navigation or pages which you may want to verbally direct people to.
