ancestors - A person from whom one is descended. Your grandparents and great grandparents are your ancestors.
artist - A person who is skilled in painting, music, literature, or any other form of art.
grist - Grain that is to be ground
justify - To show to be fair or reasonable; Tom justified his teacher's faith in him by winning the scholarship. To
prove to be blameless or without guilt. The lawyer tried to justify the suspect's actions.
Militia - A group of citizens who are trained to fight and help in emergencies.
territory - a large area of land or region that is under the control of a distant government. A territory does not have
all of the rights of a state or province.
typhoid - A serious disease that people get from bacteria in their food or drink. It causes a very high fever and
infection of the intestines. It can be passed from one person to another.
