Bohna Activities
1. Math/Language Arts: Imagine the Bohnas are having a yard sale. Make a list of th eitems to be sold with the prices. How much would the Bohnas make if they sold everything? Create an advertisement for the classified section of the newspaper. Make a schedule of who will work at the sale and what time they will be working.
2. Language Arts/Social Studies: Create a list of chores the Bohna children had to do every day on the trail. Make a list of the chores they might have done after moving to kern Island. Compare their chores with chores you do every day.
3. Science: Groups discover natural resources in Kern County and jot down information on index cards about particular natural resources, challenging classmates to guess from the clues. For example: "This natural resource helps heat homes." (natural gas)
