Free Bullying and Teasing Prevention Curriculum

For grades 2-5, 6-8 and after school programs

NEW! Don't Laugh at Me Project - Free Curriculum Materials, Video and CD. The Don't Laugh at Me Project (DLAM) is working to transform schools, camps and other youth organizations into more compassionate, safe and respectful environments. Founded by Peter Yarrow of the folk group Peter, Paul & Mary, the project disseminates educational resources that are designed to establish a climate that reduces the emotional and physical cruelty some children inflict upon each other by behaviors such as ridicule, bullying and - in extreme cases - violence.

Operation Respect is a non-profit organization. They do not sell their programs. Generous support from a variety of people and organizations has helped DLAM make their program materials and curricula available without cost.

DLAM has developed three curricula, one for grades 2-5, another for grades 6-8 and a third for summer camps and after-school programs, all utilize inspiring music and video as well as materials based on the well-tested, highly regarded conflict resolution curricula developed by the Resolving Conflict Creatively Program (RCCP) of Educators for Social Responsibility (ESR). DLAM is a gateway program; it is designed to provide teachers, school counselors, social workers, administrators and other professionals with an entry point for year-round social and emotional learning (SEL) and character education programs, as well as to interface with and energize other efforts of this kind. The curriculum can be downloaded from the DLAM website or sent to you my mail.

There is a CD that contains songs, which are integrated into the curricula materials and capture the spirit and intent of the DLAM program. If you have the appropriate plug-ins, you can obtain the CD by downloading it directly from their website. You may also register to have a free copy of the CD mailed directly to you.

The DLAM video is a powerful piece of the program, which is an essential component of the curricula. With the appropriate plug-ins, you may also download the video directly from their website. However, in a classroom setting, the size of the computer image is not appropriate. For use in a classroom, they recommend obtaining a VHS copy of the video. You may register to have a free copy of the video mailed directly to you.

DLAM is a project of Operation Respect, Inc. Visit their website at http://www.dontlaugh.org or contact info@dontlaugh.org for additional information.
