Drug Free Youth Summit
Who Should Attend?
Teams of four: one school staff member, up to three students in grades 5-6, 7-8 or 9-12.
About the training:
The annual Drug Free Youth Summit is a count-wide event to highlight activities for youth involvement in Red Ribbon Week , the Great American Smokeout and year-round participation in prevention related groups such as Friday Night Live/Club Live/Friday Night Live Kids, Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) and Peer Helping groups.
Participating teams will receive a Kern County Drug Free Youth Summit Resource/planning guidebook, a Youth Summit t-shirt for all participants and numerous creative andfun ideas and strategies for making a difference on their campus. Three separate sessions will be held, one for teams of intermediate age students, one for teams of junior high students and one for teams of high school age students. Note: At least one school staff member must accompany their team of students at all times.
Dates:
- September 12, 2007 - Elementary School Day
- September 13, 2007 - Middle School Day
- September 14, 2007 - High School Day
Registration Fees:
$60/team of 1 adult and 3 students All teams must pre-pay and pre-registered to attend.
