Who Should Attend?

About the training:
California Friday Night Live (FNL) is a peer program designed to prevent alcohol and drug use among youth. Currently, 42 counties have Friday Night Live Programs that are uniquely designed to meet their communities’ specific needs. Each county offers the five core program components:
- chapters that engage youth in planning and carrying out FNL activities and events;
- alternative activities designed to support students in drug-free fun;
- community action through promoting community awareness and service;
- assembly presentations taht focus on linking youth and law enforcement in positive ways; and
- leadership training and conferences.
Some counties have developed optional components such as parent education, recovering teens support groups, Club Live (for middle and junior high school students), Friday Night Live Kids (for intermediate-age students), and other special programs. In this training, advisors learn how to establish chapters, recruit student participants, and plan and carry out FNL activities that benefit the entire school community.
Registration Fees:
There are no fees for staff from schools that are members of the Kern County Substance Abuse Prevention Education (KCSAPE) Partnership. The fee for nonmembers is $TBA/person. This fee includes all workshop materials.
