Who Should Attend?

About the training:

This is an intensive two-day workshop designed to provide participants with hands-on training in the Student Leadership Training curriculum for middle school and high school students as developed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office. The sessions reproduce the two-day student training program and give potential facilitators the opportunity to experience the program components. These components include:

  1. leadership skills;
  2. trust-building;
  3. conflict resolution;
  4. dealing with prejudice and stereotypes; and
  5. prevention themes.

Participants receive the Student Leadership Training manual, which includes workshop curricula and "how-to" information for those interested in conducting their own Student Leadership Training. Participants are encouraged to facilitate a workshop on leadership skills, conflict resolution or trust building at one Student Leadership Training during the current school year.

Registration Fees:

There are no fees for staff from schools that are members of the Kern County Substance Abuse Prevention Education (KCSAPE) Partnership. The fee for nonmembers is $50/person. This fee includes all workshop materials.
