Advanced Student Assistance Team Training
Who Should Attend?
Certificated or classified school personnel who have previously attended Student Assistance Team Training and are interested in expanding their expertise. It is recommended that sites send a team of 2 to 4 staff members. Limit to 20 participants.
About the training:
Advanced Student Assistance Team Training is designed for school personnel who are interested in expanding and refining the student assistance and intervention process at their site. Working from data gathered before the training, teams will analyze the current functioning of their team, identify strengths and areas of need and develp specific strategies to address those needs. Possible areas to be examined are paperwork processes, appropriate school-based intervention/support programs, increased parental involvement and ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness. Participants will leave this one-day training with the outline of an Action Plan to Strengthen the student assistance process at their respective sites.
NOTE: This training is designed for those who have previously attending the Student Assistance Team Training offered by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office or a similar training program.
Registration Fees:
There are no fees for staff from schools that are members of the Kern County Substance Abuse Prevention Education (KCSAPE) Partnership. The fee for nonmembers is TBA/person. This fee includes all workshop materials.
Training location and dates:
Scheduled by request. Districts that have a minimum of fifteen staff to train can arrange to schedule a training within their district.
