Who Should Attend?
District or site level teams of three to six people that include an administrator, classroom teacher(s), parent(s), and perhaps support staff and/or a school board or other community representative.
About the training:
There is compelling evidence that meaningful involvement of parents and other care givers in the schooling of children positively impacts their achievement and the overall quality of their educational experience. Parent involvement is a mandatory component of most school improvement programs. This training of trainers workshop is designed to develop district and/or site based leadership teams, providing participants with strategies and tools to enhance and expand parent involvement at their schools. The training will be interactive, including small and large group activities and culminating with teams creating an long term Action Plan for strengthening their partnership with families through parent involvement.
