School Crisis Response
Who should attend?
District and school site administrators, law enforcement officers, counselors, community members, parents, students.
About the training:
A student attempts suicide; a teacher is killed in an automobile accident; rival gangs initiate a drive-by shooting–none of these are unlikely occurrences in the life of a school. This training takes a proactive approach to preparing students, staff and administration for how to handle crisis when it happens. Learn (1) how to lessen the probability of a crisis; (2) how to create a planning team to prepare for crisis; (3) how to provide services during a crisis; (4) dealing with parents, media, and the community at large; and (5) providing debriefing and support for both staff and students. Each training team will receive the manual and workbook "From Chaos to Control: School Crisis Response."
Registration fees:
$25/person or $55/team of 3 to 5 people
