Safe Schools
Based on the belief that schools and law enforcement should join efforts to create safe and orderly school campuses and communitites, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Attorney General created the School Law Enforcement Partnership (S/LEP) in 1983. A volunteer cadre of education and law enforcement specialists was formed to help local communities forge such partnerships. Since that time, S/LEP Cadre members have provided countless hours of training and technical assistance so that all students will be able to attend safe schools.
