The A.P.I. Study: Academics and Prevention Inseparable identifies specific factors and promising practices that simultaneously sustain youth development and increase student achievement. The main purpose of this study is to test how prevention and youth development activities correlate with academic achievement. A key finding suggests that students who were exposed to consistent prevention and youth development activities showed a significant increase in their test scores and commitment to learning. Bullying and Hate-Motivated Behavior Prevention
Bullying and Hate Motivated Behavior Prevention training helps schools identify and discuss bullying and behavior motivated by intolerance or hate. In the training, school personnel learn to differentiate between physical and psychological aggression, why bullies bully, bullying and the law, and how school bullying can be prevented or diminished. Monitoring the Future is an ongoing study of the behaviors, attitudes, and values of American secondary school students, college students, and young adults. Each year, a total of some 50,000 8th, 10th and 12th grade students are surveyed (12th graders since 1975, and 8th and 10th graders since 1991.)
