Cesar E. Chavez Service Clubs AmeriCorps*VISTA Position

Assist middle schools in Kern County in the development of service clubs and 
receive a $4725 education award at end of service!

Details:

  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and local community-based organizations to maintain dynamic afterschool service clubs
  • Organize and plan service and recognition events
  • Develop sustainable funding and support resources
  • Compose service club data reports
  • Draft correspondence 

    FULL-TIME MEMBERS,  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday; other times as needed:

    • Serve middle schools in Lamont/Edison, Arvin/Weedpatch, Shafter/Buttonwillow, or Greenfield
    • Service begins August 11, 2008 and ends August 11, 2009
    • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
    • Living Allowance of $398.16 paid bi-weekly and
    • $350 monthly living stipend
    • Health Insurance Benefits
    • Child Care Benefits (if needed)
    • $4,725 Education Award or $1,200 cash stipend at completion of the term of service.
