Signs of a troubled child

A child may:
  • Miss school a lot.
  • Run away from home.
  • Suffer extreme mood swings.
  • Be careless and accident prone.
  • Lose his appetite or eat a lot.
  • Be unsociable and withdraw from family and/or peer activities.
  • Smoke cigarettes or drink at a young age.
  • Suffer dramatic changes in energy levels.
  • Engage in lying or stealing.
  • Undergo dramatic changes in appearance – become sloppy and unkempt.
  • Seem to be "sick" a lot – complain of colds, flu, headaches and stomach upsets.
