Building Healthy Communities AmeriCorps Program

Applications will be accepted until October 21, 2011 for 900 hour positions for the East Oakland community. All other communities have closed applications for the 2011-12 year. October 21, 2011

Mentor youth - California for one year,
receive $5,550 full-time ($2,775 for part-time) education award at end of service

Details:

• Mentor youth in selected California communities
• Full-time and part-time positions available
• Service begins September 1, 2011 and ends June 30, 2012
• Applicants of all ages over 17 years of age will be considered
• SCHEDULES VARY FOR FULL &  PART-TIME MEMBERS
• Monthly Living Allowance of $1,400 full-time ($740 for part-time)
• Health Insurance Benefits (if eligible)
• Child Care Benefits (if eligible)
• $5,550 ($2,775 part-time) Education Award at completion of 1700 (900 part-time) hours of service

Ten-month, full and part-time positions are available for AmeriCorps members to serve as mentors in various California communities starting September 1 2011 and ending June 30, 2012. Applicants must be able to work a pre-determined schedule designated by program staff.
