Some might regard science as boring. But what if experiments carried out for a science fair could improve your gas mileage, lower your energy bills or determine whether you might get a job? Would you be interested then?

The 17th annual Kern County Science Fair held on March 31 at the Bakersfield Convention Center provided the forum for answers. Presented by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools, it brought together approximately 600 Kern County students in grades 4-12 who spent months preparing scientific experiments to test all kinds of theories.
