About KETN

KETN Mission Statement: Kern Educational Telecommunications Network (KETN) exists to provide cost effective, telecommunications based, educational opportunities to students and adults. KETN believes geographic isolation should not hinder learning opportunities, be they in the classroom or home, and that an educated and informed population benefits our community. We embrace local, regional and national collaboration and are committed to using cutting edge technology and program innovation that benefits viewers and users of our services

KETC Mission Statement: Kern Educational Telecommunications Consortium (KETC) was established to provide, in a cost effective manner, the services and other items necessary and appropriate for the establishment, operation and maintenance of the Kern Educational Telecommunications delivery system for instructional resources, programming and equipment; improving educational resources; increasing the educational opportunities of students at all instructional levels; improving instructional telecommunications systems and technology; and implementation of recommendations of mutual interest regarding instructional telecommunications delivery systems.

KETC Membership: The Consortium is made up of the Kern County Superintendent of Schools (the administrative agency), Kern Community College District, California State University, Bakersfield, Kern High School District, Panama-Buena Vista Union School District and Bakersfield City School District. It operates through an operational committee and board of directors.
