A satellite uplink is a transmission system that can send a signal up to a geostationary satellite that will retransmit that signal back to earth to be received by a satellite downlink dish.

Teleconferencing allows two or more individuals in different locations to communicate with two-way audio and one-way video, or two-way audio and two-way video. A typical teleconference is a point to point, or point to multipoint, system connected via the telephone company. A satellite teleconference is much the same except the conference is broadcast via a C-Band or KU-Band satellite.
