Mission

Kern County ROP is dedicated to providing career preparation for high school students and adults.  It is the responsibility of the ROP to assist high school students with their school to work transition and provide adults with employability skills.  This will be accomplished by providing the highest quality career preparation curriculum.  Course offerings are based on current and future labor market demands.

The purpose of the ROP is to provide students with:

  • Job training to enter a new occupational or technical field.
  • Advanced training to upgrade skills.
  • Retraining for a change of careers

Non-Discrimination Policy

The Kern County ROP courses are offered to middle, high school and adult students. Enrollment and employment is offered regardless of race, creed, national origin, sex, age, language, ancestry, or marital status.  Nor does it discriminate on the basis of physical or mental disability in any of its educational programs and activities or employment practices.  The lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in Career Technical Education.  Kern County ROP encourages gender equity in students' selection of ROP courses and/or programs, career choices, and personal decisions.
