Career Technical Education

The Kern County Regional Occupational program (KCROP) originated in 1974, and is operated by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. It is a consortium that works with six participating school districts (El Tejon USD, Mojave USD, Muroc JUSD, Southern Kern USD, Sierra Sands USD, and Tehachapi USD) to provide career and technical education to high school and adult students. Some of the ROP course offerings provide opportunities for cooperative and community classroom learning. In the 2008-09 school year a total of 1,984 students were served (1540 high school and 444 adult students).

Funding
The Kern County Regional Occupational program is part of the secondary public school system and supported by state tax dollars. We are primarily state funded based on student hours of attendance or Average Daily Attendance (ADA).
