Pathways to prevention: A comprehensive guide for supporting infant and toddler mental health.
Designed for programs with different structures and leadership styles, this publication will provide guidance to program leaders and staff members for planning, carrying out, and assessing their infant-toddler mental health services. This document reviews the history of the mental health initiative of the Head Start Bureau, highlights six building blocks that support successful program approaches to infant and toddler mental health, and suggest written materials and web sites that programs can use to support their work
2005 Right Start for America's Newborns: The Right Start for America's Newborns: City and State Trends 1990 – 2002
A KIDS COUNT online report, focuses on measures of child well-being reflecting conditions prior to birth, a newborn's health status at birth, and maternal characteristics that are associated with a child's educational and social outcomes. Drawn from birth certificates, the report tracks eight key measures of child well-being in the 50 states and 55 large cities in the US. The report also includes national, state, and city-level data on total births by race and ethnicity. Updated data are available as profiles, line graphs, national maps, rankings, and raw data for the nation's 50 largest cities and the 50 states through 2002.
