School Nurse - Wasco/Delano Area

This position will serve the Wasco/Delano area

SALARY:
$52,894 minimum; $75,002 maximum per year based on 205 service days, 8 hours per day. Prepaid medical with prepaid prescription card, vision, dental, and counseling plans provided for employee and family. A life insurance program is also prepaid for the employee.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure implementation of school and health laws to include immunizations, infectious diseases, and specialized physical health care services. Develop and implement classroom curriculum related to current health promotion and prevention education guidelines. Serve as a member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team; completes assessments and written reports at annual and three-year reviews as appropriate. Attend health emergencies at Alternative Education Programs and other school district sites. Prepare and submit state mandated reports to California Department of Education. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a current RN license; California School Health Services Credential; Public Health Certificate; CPR/First Aid Certified. At least three years nursing experience and successful experience in school nursing desired.
