SALARY:
$41,766 minimum; $59,266 maximum entry level per year, based on 185 service days; 7 hrs/day. An additional annual stipend of $1,000 will be paid for master's degree and $1,300 for doctorate. Prepaid medical (with prepaid prescription card), vision, dental and counseling plans provided for employee and family. A life insurance policy is also prepaid for the employee.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess students to determine present performance levels, learning styles and areas of disability. Prepare and maintain appropriate student records, files and reports. Assume primary responsibility for development and implementation of the Individual Education Plan. Provide instruction and services to students enrolled in the Resource Specialist Program. Coordinate special education services and regular classroom activities for students enrolled in the Resource Specialist Program. Consult with parents, regular classroom teacher and other specialists regarding students who have been admitted to the Resource Specialist Program. Plan and coordinate the work of resource instructional aide.
Prepare schedules and timelines to implement educational activities. Evaluate and review pupils' academic and social progress. Maintain professional competence through participation in personal development activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid California special education credential. Willing to obtain a preliminary or clear Resource Specialist Certificate. Teaching experience in both regular and special education desirable. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills desirable.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver’s license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage.
Fingerprint clearance by both the federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
