  1. Financial Planning - your CalSTRS Retirement benefit is probably a major portion of the income you will be receiving for the rest of your life. Do you know what your monthly benefit will be?

  2. Have you said, "I'm retiring at 55"? Do you know how much your monthly benefit increases for each year you work beyond age 55?

  3. Have you been heard to say, "I'm taking all of my benefit for me; I'm not naming an option beneficiary"? Do you know you can name any one person or persons, of your choice as option beneficiaries? Make an informed choice. Understand all of the options available. Do you know the difference between an option beneficiary and a lump sum beneficiary?
