Program Overview

The issue of gang violence impacts everyone in the communities where gangs reside. Gangs and gang violence often reach across boundaries of neighborhood, ethnicity and socio-economics. Our Youth Achievement Program is a prevention education program. We seek to identify at-risk youth for emersion in a research-based violence prevention and life skills program that encourages youth to use their critical thinking skills to re-think their perceptions about violence, peer pressure and life choices in a manner that can result in thinking critically before acting while understanding how violence is a multi-faceted issue that has the perpetrator, victim and those who observe.
