The Foster Youth Resource Center and Coffee House is a collaboration between the Kern County Network for Children, Foster Youth Services, local buisnesses, public agencies, non-profits and community members.

About The Coffee House
Under the supervision of Mike Walters and his wife, Jaclynn Lawlor, foster youth will be trained to do more than brew coffee. The training includes customer relations, balancing cash, quality control, inventory management and dealing with a broad diversity of people. The fully operational Coffee House will also:- Serve as a job incubator that is rooted in partnerships with private sector and community service organizations.
- Assist foster youth that work in the Coffee House with gaining job skills and work experience.
- Provide a safe place for foster youth to socialize and participate in peer supported activites.
