Dear Early Childhood Educators,
The California Preschool Instructional Network (CPIN), Region 8 (Kern, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura) is once again pleased to provide Early Childhood Professionals with a series of trainings during the 2008-2009 year.
The purpose of CPIN, a statewide system funded through the State Department of Education (CDE), is to provide consistent and high quality professional development for early childhood administrators, college faculty and teachers. This professional development consists of current research, information, resources, and best practices, which are focused on the educational components of school readiness for all children aged three to five, including English learners and children with disabilities.
Additionally, CPIN trainers will incorporate several tools including, the Preschool Learning Foundations, the Desired Results Developmental Profile, the Prekindergarten Learning and Developmental Guidelines, the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale and the English Learner Guide. These tools will be referenced during training to assist participants with an understanding of how these documents work together to support a child’s’ development.
