Welcome To The Conditions Of Children!

At Kern County Network for Children, we believe the condition of children in our county is the most important thing we can attend to. But, to do this well, government officials, agency and program staff, researchers, grant writers, and ordinary citizens need easy access to data about children and families. Therefore, we strive to do two things well: 1) provide links to the most current, most reliable information available and 2) encourage the use of data and evaluation to improve the lives of children and families in our county.

Every year, Kern County Network for Children releases a Report Card summarizing many child and family statistics. This year we are pleased to present Report Card 2007.

Because the task of gathering together every piece of needed information for every situation is obviously impossible, it is our pleasure to also provide personal technical assistance for your data-related projects. Please call or e-mail us if you:

  • need information that is not presented on this site
  • are unclear how to use the data sources
  • want to discuss appropriate data for your project
  • want to report outdated links
  • need assistance with any other aspect of child and family data

We will respond promptly to your questions, suggestions, or feedback about this website. Your input will help us constantly improve the quality and quantity of information presented here.

Thank you for your interest in the condition of Kern County's children!
