Family Child Care Home (California City)
A part time child care asssitant is needed for 30-35 hours a week, must be over the age of 18, working inside and out with children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old. To assist with the daily activities of a busy preschool/home daycare, daily lifting of children, playing with children, preparing meals and snack, feeding and diapering infants, cleaning of ply area and food area, assisting children with bathroom needs, assisting with arts and crafts and after - school children's home-work, communicating with children and parents. Salary is $8 an hour

Start date is as soon as all pre work requirments are done. Dealine to apply is 1/30/09. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing the following:

  • A background investigation will be conducted to include live scan (Daycare provides cost to employees)
  • A TB skin test
  • Must submit verification of your identity and citizenship or legal right to work in the United states

North of the River Recreation and Park District (Willowtree Preschool)
Part-time pre-school positions are available for assistant teachers and teachers are needed for Willowtree Preschool for up to 35 hours per week, dependent upon program enrollment between 7am to 6pm. Day Care Assistant Teachers start at $8.74 per hour and day Care Teachers start at $10.12 per hour. All work is performed in a child care environment that includes a School or Day Care Center with indoor activities that include standing, sitting on the floor/chair and outdoor activities that include standing and walking on playground concrete, sand and grass. Some exposure to household cleaning supplies. At some locations, setting and washing tables, dish washing and kitchen cleanup requires some lifting and bending at the sink. If assigned to Infant and Toddler classes, daily lifting of children. Day Care Assistant Teachers and Teachers must be at least 18 years of age and a High school graduate or equivalent. Both positions require a minimum of 3 infant units. Day Care Assistant Teachers must have a minimum of one year experience working with age appropriate children and require 6 units in child development (to include the 3 infant units). Day Care Teachers must have one year experience in an instructional capacity and are required to have completed 12 units in child development (to include the 3 infant units).

An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing the following:

  • Must submit to a post offer medical exam, drug screen, and TB Skin test at the District’s expense
  • Must submit official transcripts

Day Care Assistant Teacher

  • Assists with supervision of children; design and implementation of daily lesson plans; classroom preparation; observing and identifying, through completion of evaluations, developmental progress of children; the maintenance and sanitation of the facility and equipment. Attends all meetings and activities of the program i.e. staff meetings, parent meetings, family socials, etc. May be assigned with some preparation and cleanup of breakfast and lunch (i.e. placing dishes and silverware on tables, washing tables, cleaning dishes, etc.)
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Completes District provided training to include CPR, First Aid and follow up training sessions recommended by the supervisor.

    Day Care Teacher

  • Responsible for supervision of children; the ordered arrangement, appearance and learning environment of the classroom; plans, supervises and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum, weekly lesson plan and daily activities; observes and identifies, through completion of evaluations, developmental progress of children. Attends all meetings and activities of the program i.e. staff meetings, parent meetings, family socials, etc. and participates in conferences with the children's parents on school adjustment and classroom behavior as needed. May assist with some preparation and cleanup of breakfast and lunch (i.e. placing dishes and silverware on tables, washing tables, cleaning dishes, etc.)
  • Responsible for site in absence of Day Care Head Teacher.
  • Completes District provided training to include CPR, First Aid and follow up training sessions recommended by the supervisor.
  • Recommends supplies and equipment to be purchased.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

    The CCLS Child Development Center will be opening in August 2008. We will be serving 106 children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. We will be operating in a Christian environment and providing quality education. We will be serving children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Children will be exposed to basic biblical concepts as well as “what character means,” what feelings mean” etc.

    There is much support for this Center in terms of various areas of study and in-house and community field trips This is truly an opportunity for educational focused person to perform in a Christian environment.

    Definition
    Under the direct supervision of a teacher the Center Teacher’s Aide provides direct care and supervision to children ages two through six at the Center.

    Essential Responsibilities
    Assists in the care of children; ensures that the physical environment of the facility is clean and safe, escorts and assists children in going to the bathroom including diaper changing, brushing their teeth, supervises napping children without direct supervision of a teacher, monitors children in play and monitors meals and snacks. Aides may also assist in food preparation

    Employment Standards

  • 18 years or older or participating in an occupational program conducted by an accredited high school or college
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of six postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development OR
  • Completion of at least three postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development each semester or quarter following initial employment, and
  • Continuation in the educational program each semester or quarter until six units have been completed
  • Ability to pass a criminal record clearance as required by licensing agencies
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test

    **Approved schools, colleges or universities, including correspondence courses offered by the same, means those approved/authorized by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education, or by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.
