The Victim/Witness Assistance Center cares about the needs of victims and witnesses of crime, and provides personalized services to meet their needs. Their advocates respond to immediate needs such as food, clothing and lodging, connect clients to appropriate community resources, counseling, reassurance and support following the crime. The program provides court escorts, orientation to the criminal justice system and assistance with financial reimbursement resulting from a violent crime.

- "Safe At Home"
California's Confidential Address Program: The "Safe At Home" program, administered by the Secretary of State, is a no cost mail forwarding service designed to help victims of domestic violence who have recently moved or are planning to relocate in the near future to a safe place unknown to their abusers. The mail forwarding service aids participants of the program in keeping their home, work, or school address confidential by providing them with a substitute address, thereby adding an extra layer of security to a victim's safety plan. Interested abuse victims can ONLY enroll at a designated domestic violence/victims assistance program facility in California. California Unemployment Insurance Laws cover Victims of Domestic Violence. Passed in 1998, sections 1032(b)4 and 1256 of the UI Code provides that leaving employment to protect yourself or your children from domestic violence is considered good cause.
