Services
The Kern County Consortium SELPA is responsible to assure programs are available for all students with disabilities, from birth until age 22. The SELPA must see that programs provide any needed services for any student with an exceptional need, and to assist in inter-SELPA placements, provide technical assistance, and administrative support for the many requirements of the new laws and requirements being placed on districts. SELPA responsibilities include such things as:

SELPA offers a variety of professional development services for district staff, teachers, child care providers, parents and interested community members including a variety of traditional workshops, video checkout, and presentations. - Search and Serve
Do you know a child who needs help? Any individual that believes they know a child that might require special education intervention may call the Search and Serve office or their local school district office and talk with someone about their concerns.

- Kern Early Start Program
If your baby, or a baby you know, was born with a condition requiring special care, he or she may need special services. Kern Early Start Program is a multi-agency collaborative program designed to provide early intervention services to infants and toddlers from birth until age three.
