2008 CBEDS-CSIS Inservice: September 23 2008
WHAT: California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) is an annual data collection administered in October.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of CBEDS is to collect information on student and staff demographics.

WHERE AND WHEN: Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office, City Centre, 1300 17th Street in Conference room 1-A on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, 9:00am - 12:00pm.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The workshop is designed for new and returning CBEDS Coordinators, Administrators, Program Managers, others involved with or interested in learning more about the CBEDS/CSIS data collection and reporting process.
PRESENTERS: The workshop will be conducted by Jesus Garcia, Research Services Coordinator. Jesus Garcia has over 15 years experience in collecting data and submitting to California Department of Education (CDE). The Annual SSID Maintenance / OPUS will be conducted by Maxx Garris, Fiscal Services Assistant.
AGENDA: Three CDE online trainings will be viewed during the session: the CBEDS Overview, CBEDS PAIF Software Demonstration and the OPUS-CBEDS Web Application Demonstration. These online trainings provide an overview of what CBEDS is and instructions on how to complete and submit CBEDS data to the California Department of Education.
