MOVE volunteers give more

MOVE ‘N to the Music was held in conjunction with Bakersfield’s annual downtown charity event “Up on the Roof - Down on the Street” and raised several thousand dollars to further the work of MOVE to educate severely disabled children to sit, stand and walk independently.

On July 11, AAL members Mickie Hawley and Gayle Whitlach presented the organization’s monetary contribution to MOVE Administrator/Founder Linda Bidabe and Executive Director David Schreuder.

The cash contribution came through AAL’s Helping Hands: Caring Acts Through Fund Raising or Service located in Appleton, WI. According to Hawley, AAL branches conduct more than 35,000 Helping Hands projects across the nation and raise more than $60 million annually to help families and communities faced with difficult situations.

“It is through the efforts of organizations like AAL that we are able to help more children every year,” Bidabe said.
