AB 2913 Certification
ELD/SDAIE Training
(formerly SB 395)
- AB 2913 Eligibility Requirements:
- Single Subject Teachers: "I was a permanent employee of a public school district in California on January 1, 1999."
- Multiple Subject Teachers: "I have completed nine or more years of full-time or equivalent teaching in the public schools of California. AND I was a permanent employee of a public school district in California on January 1, 1999."
- Multiple Subject Teachers "I certify one of the following - A or B or C:
- A.) I have passed one or more sections of the following state certification examinations - either sections of the Language Development Specialist (LDS) Exam; either the Culture or Methodology Component of a Bilingual Certificate of Competence Examination; any one of Test 1-5 of the CLAD/BCLAD Examinations
- B.) I have completed 30 or more hours of prior training in any apsect of English Language Development (ELD) and/or Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE).
- C.) I have two years of full-time or equivalent experience teaching English Learners.
- Training format: 45 hours of training - Assessment consists of an essay test and completion of portfolio.
- Enrollment: Enrollment
is limited to 30 per section. However, if there are fewer than 20
participants for any given offering, class will be canceled.
- Registration Fee: $670 (Payments sent directly to Tulare County Office of Education)
