Population

On January 1, 2005, the official population estimate for Kern County was 753,070 individuals. This figure represents a population increase of approximately 13.8% since the 2000 Census.

The official demographic unit for the State is the California Department of Finance. Population estimates are based on US Census counts and are adjusted for local birth/death rates and other events which affect local growth.
