Demographic information is also available for each of Kern County's communities. The easiest way to access this community information, is to use Kern Council of Government's Interactive Map of Kern County.
Keep in mind that these areas are CCDs (Census County Divisions) which were designated by the Census Bureau. They may, or may not, correspond to the community "boundaries" recognized by local residents. For instance, the community recognized locally as "Taft" is broken down into four different CCDs (City of Taft, Taft Heights, South Taft, and Ford City). Also, the outlying Taft area has several other CCDs (Valley Acres, Dustin Acres, Tupman, etc.)
Unfortunately, for a profile of the entire area, these many profiles must be summed together.
